Polyguard UVO is an Ultra Violet Overcoat which is highly resistant to the damaging effects of UV light. It is a single component, low VOC, water based liquid coating that protects RD-6, Fusion Bonded Epoxy, Two-Part Epoxies (such as Polyguard’s NHT-5600) and other anti-corrosion coatings from harmful UV rays. Direct exposure to sunlight will result in degradation of  traditional coatings. UVO should be used as an overcoat to protect these coatings on above ground pipeline field joint girth welds, valves, fittings, and FBE coated pipe from damaging UV light rays. 

UVO may be applied with a brush or roller to a clean and dry surface. Surrounding conditions for successful application are humidity less than 85% and temperature greater than 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. The product should be kept warm, at a minimum of 65°F (18°C). For best results, UVO should be thoroughly stirred to obtain a uniform consistency prior to application. DO NOT FREEZE. DO NOT THIN LIQUID COATING. In the event of cold weather, store inside prior to use and protect from freezing.
